Velasquez And Silva Ready For Rematch At UFC 160

ufcThe UFC returns to Las Vegas this weekend when Cain Velasquez hopes to defend his heavyweight title against Antonio ‘Big Foot’ Silva at UFC 160.

This is the second encounter between the two with Velasquez dominating Silva in their previous encounter which he won due to TKO in the first round at UFC 146.  Since then Big Foot knocked out Alistair Overeem in February at UFC 156 in one of the biggest upsets of the year so far.

The card also features the number one ranked contender in Junior Dos Santos who is coming off a loss to current champion Velasquez, who he lost his title to at UFC 155 in December.  He is hoping beat former K-1World Grand Prix winner and Pride veteran Mark Hunt who is currently on a four fight winning streak including a knockout of the night performance against Stefan Struve in his last fight.

This fight is seen as number one contender elimination with JDS and Hunt both hoping to secure a title fight against the winner of the main event.

A Light heavyweight bout between fourth ranked Glover Teixeira and James Te Huna is also on the card.  Glover is coming off a victory against Rampage in December extending his current winning streak to eighteen. Te Huna is also on an impressive winning streak with four straight victories inside the octagon, including a fight of the night performance against Joey Beltran in July of last year.

Gray Maynard vs TJ Grant and Donald Cerrone vs K.J. Noons are two Lightweight bouts on the main event card.  Gray Maynard is coming off a victory against fan favourite Clay Guida in June of last year.  He squares off against TJ Grant in a title eliminator in the lightweight division with the winner next in line for a title fight against the champion Benson Henderson.

UFC 160 is on this Saturday night at 3.00am with the prelims starting at 1.00am on ESPN UK.  Other prelim fights are also available on Facebook through the UFC page.
