Award-winning Irish director Graham Jones has released the trailer for his fourth feature The Randomers which is due out in 2014.

The Randomers is the story of a girl on the West coast of Ireland (Sarah Jane Murphy) who places an advertisement seeking a guy for a relationship “without speaking” and finds exactly what she’s looking for (Joseph Lydon).

“There’s something about him she doesn’t know,” says director Graham Jones. “But he’s not going to be chatty about it. I’ve always wondered why romantic movies are so dialogue-driven! After all, even the most verbose relationships don’t seem deeply rooted in words…”

The Randomers was shot in Counties Galway & Mayo during Spring of this year and features local actors, musicians and scenery – the production didn’t even have a budget for catering, but that didn’t appear to bother the cast and crew who were eager to work on a challenging project.

“It was such a wonderful experience,” says Sarah Jane Murphy of trad band The Murphy Sisters. “It helped me grow as an actor and indeed as a person.”

“We made a movie about a relationship that didn’t need words,” adds her onscreen love interest Joseph Lydon. “I think it will speak volumes.”

Graham Jones previously made The Green Marker Scare (2012), Fudge 44 (2005) and How To Cheat In The Leaving Certificate (1998) and is described by Variety Magazine as “a very talented director”.
