Man Arrested In Elaine O’Hara Murder Investigation

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Elaine O’Hara, whose body was found in the Dublin mountains last month.

The 36-year-old childcare worker had been missing from her Stepaside home for over a year when her body was discovered.

The discovery of personal items at Kilakee mountain, Rathfarnham and at a reservoir in Roundwood in County Wicklow led Gardaí to believe she had been murdered.

Following the discovery Gardaí stepped up their investigation, examining CCTV, Ms O’Hara’s phone and laptop while several people were also interviewed.

It is widely believed she may have met her killer on an online dating website.

The investigation led detectives to arrest a married man at his Foxrock home this morning.

The father of two is being questioned at Blackrock Garda Station, where he can be held for up to 24 hours.
