Gardai Investigating Death Of Six Month Old Dublin Toddler

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of six month old girl who was discovered in her Dublin home yesterday morning.

The body of Debra Simpson was discovered at the family home on Sherrard Avenue in the north inner city at approximately 7.30 am yesterday.

Gardai are treating the death as suspicious but foul play is not suspected.

It is believed Debra, who was at home with her mother and three siblings at the time of her death, suffered from some underlying health issues and may have fallen victim to a cot death.

The infant was taken to nearby Temple Street Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A postmortem took place at the hospital last night and results which are expected today will determine the course of the Gardai’s investigation.
