Mother Detained As Gregg Children Found Safe And Well

A mother and her three children, missing from their Co Roscommon home since yesterday, have been found safe and well in Fermanagh.

Gardaí issued a Child Rescue Ireland alert in the early hours of this morning after mother of five Fiona Gregg (41) and three of her children Killian (8), Elisha (6), and Derbhla (2) were last seen at around 3pm yesterday at their home in Ballyforan.

They were found safe and well this morning by the PSNI in Enniskillen.

The CRI alert has now been cancelled and Fiona has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

The two children who were not involved in the CRI alert live with their father.

Gardaí thanked the public and media for their help and asked that the family’s privacy be respected at this time.

In a statement, gardaí said: “We also wish to thank and acknowledge cooperation received from the Police Service of Northern Ireland during this investigation.”

This is only the second time a CRI alert has been issued in Ireland.

In July of this year the first ever CRI was issued when 43 year old Sanjeev Chada took his two sons from their Carlow home.

His two boys, Eoghan (10) and Ruairi (5) were later found dead in the boot of his car after it collided with a wall near Westport.

Chada will stand trial next November for the murder of his two sons.
