Two Arrested In Wynne Murder Investigation

Gardai in Tallaght investigating the fatal shooting of Karl Wynne that occured on 30th May, 2013 at St. Dominic’s Shopping Centre have arrested two men.

The two men, aged 28 and 25, were arrested at an address in Finglas this morning.

Wynne (45) died in Tallaght hospital on the 19th July 2013 from injuries sustained during the shooting. A passenger on a motorcycle fired five shots at him, hitting him once in the head and three times in the body.

Dad of six Wynne, who was originally from Finglas but lived in Tallaght, had spent more than 20 years in prison.
Gardaí believe career criminal Wynne was gunned down after he botched an assassination attempt on Sean Enright on May 15th 2013. Finglas mobsters who ordered the hit feared he would turn into a Garda informant.
The two men are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at Tallaght Garda Station.

These are the first arrests in relation to this murder.
