Gardai Tracking Injured Man Who Fled Scene Of Dublin Car Bomb


Gardaí are trying to trace a man who fled a car bomb attack with injuries in Dublin last night.

A car was blown up on Long Lane, Dublin 8, at around 11pm.

The army bomb disposal team were called to the scene, where it is believed a pipe bomb was used in the attack which damaged nearby cars and caused minor damage to some nearby homes.

Gardaí say no residents were injured but an injured and bloodied man was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the attack.

Detectives are trying to trace the man and have begun checking with hospitals around the city.

They are anxious to speak to the man in connection with the explosion and have urged any witnesses to contact them at Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 6669400 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.
