Two Men Set To Appear In Court Over Limerick Stabbing

Two men are expected to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court this morning charged following a Garda investigation into an incident on Parnell Street, Limerick, on March 16th.

At approximately 6.40pm on March 16th a man aged in his 30s sustained stab wounds to his face during a violent disturbance involving a number of men on Parnell St. The injured man was taken to University College Hospital Galway where he was treated for his injuries.

As part of an investigation an arrest operation was carried out on the April 8th. During the operation four men were arrested in the Limerick area and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Two men (aged in their 30s) were later released without charge and files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The other two men (both aged in their 20s) are expected to appear before Limerick District Court this morning charged in connection with the incident.
