GAA : Waterford And Clare Set To Lock Horns Again

gaa

Ulster Senior Football Championship

Monaghan v Tyrone

This is a very intriguing clash as both ssides possess interesting styles of play. Tyrone have been one of the most dominant and consistent teams in recent years and are giving their younger players the massive experience of playing against the best sides on the island. You only have to look at players like Darren McCurry to realise that they have potential. Monaghan on the other hand are Ulster champions and if they can repeat the way they played in the Ulster final last year against Donegal, they will most certainly come out on top. This is one of the hardest games to call this year as both sides are improving but I think if Monaghan are ready to play like that again they could win, if not Tyrone will march onwards.

Verdict: Tyrone

Munster Senior Football Championship Replay

Waterford v Clare

Waterford’s late revival last week gave them an extra game and another chance to overcome their Munster rivals. Clare will be disappointed that they didn’t close out the game when they had the opportunities to do so. Clare should still be good enough to beat them in this Munster quarter final, but home advantage might make this a more entertaining battle. Waterford’s midfielders need to retain possession better if they are to overcome the banner men. Clare can’t afford to miss vital opportunities this weekend as it is all to play for in Dungarvan.

Verdict: Clare

Leinster Senior Football Championship

Carlow v Meath

The Royal County will be the visitors this Sunday to Dr. Cullen Park as they seek to claim a place in the last four of the Leinster championship. Meath like most sides in the Leinster championship have been really in the shadow of Dublin, however Meath have beaten the Dubs before and are more than capable of doing so again if luck is on their side. Carlow haven’t really made much impact on the Leinster championship in recent years but are still going to be difficult to beat on their home patch. Meath should have more than enough quality all around the pitch and should be far too strong for this Carlow side.

Verdict: Meath
