New Sports Website Aims To Boost Local Participation

Lucan Sports Hub is a new interactive sports website launching in Kenny’s Pub, Lucan Village on Monday September 15th at 8.30pm. The Hub will act as a forum for all sports clubs in the Lucan area in an effort to promote inter-club relationships and create awareness of all the different sports on offer.

Supported by South Dublin County Council this initiative is being launched by local sports enthusiast Will Garbutt and Irish News Review editor Glenn Dowd who have been developing Lucan Sports Hub over the past number of months.

Speaking at a photoshoot ahead of the launch of Lucan Sports Hub, local Councillor Vicki Casserly, a key supporter of the project revealed what the sports clubs and local residents can expect from the initiative.

Vicki said “Lucan Sports Hub is a fantastic initiative promoting Sport in the Lucan Community, It allows opportunity through the online directory to access and gain knowledge of what sporting clubs are in our area should you wish to participate. It also offers a sense of community comradery through the online interaction which allows us all to see fixtures and upcoming sporting events for all clubs. It will be a great asset to Lucan and its 70+ sports clubs moving forward.”
