CRI Alert Dropped But 15 Year Old Sait Still Missing

Gardai are continuing the search for missing Wexford teenager Sait Canbullu but have since cancelled the Child Rescue Ireland Alert, stating this is now a missing persons case.

Gardaí believe 15 year old Sait got into a car in Wexford town of his own free will with organised criminals.

He was approached by two men wearing balaclavas or ski masks at around 1.10pm yesterday afternoon.

The decision to downgrade the case from a CRI comes after Gardaí re-interviewed witnesses and received new information in relation to the disappearance of the teenager.

The CRI alert was cancelled as it no longer meets the key criteria including the “immediate and serious risk to the health and welfare of a child”.

Detectives are examining CCTV footage to identify the make and model of the car.

They have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

Gardaí received information that the teenager may have been in Sandymount in Dublin last night but searches failed to locate him.

They believe he is still in the country and are very concerned about his safety.

Sait is described as 5’4″ in height, of average build, with black hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing dark grey tracksuit and blue/grey Nike running shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wexford Garda Station 053-9165200.
