Compulsive gambling, pathological gambling, problem gambling, call it what you may but this addiction is becoming a serious problem in this country and is leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Unlike alcohol or drugs, the gambling addiction can be hidden from friends and loved ones. It may seem irrational to the person looking on, but to the compulsive gambler the need to gamble is uncontrollable. They are caught in the obsession that is the need to place a bet. Compulsive gambling is a progressive addiction and so as time goes by the gambler will feed his/her habit more and more until it becomes all that they think about. Dano Opens Up After Love/Hate Exit

Actor Jason Barry has spoken out after his character Dano Loughman made a dramatic exit from Love/Hate on Sunday night.

Los Angeles based Barry joined the hit show in season three and played the Continuity-IRA member , who sought to avenge the murder of his father Git (Jimmy Smallhorne), who was beaten to death by Nidge’s (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) gang after he raped Tommy’s  (Killian Scott) girlfriend Siobhan (Charlie Murphy). Ronan Lands Lead Role In Brooklyn Adaptation

Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is set to take on the leading role in upcoming Brooklyn, adapted from the 2009 Colm Tóibín novel of the same name.

Speaking to Brendan Connelly of Bleeding Cool News, director John Crowley confirmed that Ms. Ronan will replace the originally cast Rooney Mara (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’) as Eilis Lacey, a young Irish immigrant in 1950’s New York whose blossoming relationship with an Italian plumber is threatened when tragedy calls her home once more. Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan is set to be cast in the lead role of the Fifty Shades Of Grey film.

The film will serve as an adaptation of EL James’ book, which has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide and is the fastest-selling paperback of all time.
