Hibs Move Four Points Clear Of Rangers In Second Place

Hibs moved four points clear of Rangers in second place in the Championship today with a 1-0 victory over Alloa Athletic at a rain drenched Indodrill Stadium today.

Although the Easter Road side dominated possession throughout, it took a Scott Allan strike from a free kick midway through the first half to secure the victory.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs made two changes to the starting XI that defeated Dumbarton 3-0 at Easter Road last weekend with David Gray and Scott Allan returning and Liam Fontaine and Danny Handling moving to the bench.

Gray resumed the right back slot and Keith Watson, who performed so well in that position moved to the centre of defence alongside Paul Hanlon. Continue reading

Hibs Climb To Second With Comfortable Win Over Dumbarton

Hibs moved back into second place in the Championship with a comfortable 3-0 win over Dumbarton at Easter Road this afternoon.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs was forced to make several changes to his squad with captain Liam Craig suspended, midfield star Scott Allan ill and Sam Stanton unavailable with mumps although Lewis Stevenson was fit after picking up an injury against Rangers much to the relief of the programme editor as today’s edition celebrated his 250th appearance for the club.

Keith Watson returned to his favoured right back position after playing in a back three against Rangers, replacing vice-captain David Gray who was listed as a substitute. Continue reading

Hibs Come From Behind To Reach Scottish Cup Quarter Finals

Hibs came from behind to secure a place in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup after a hard fought game against Arbroath at Easter Road this afternoon.
No Hibs’ (or Hearts) fan needs reminding that it’s now been 113 years since the Scottish Cup was last in the Easter Road boardroom, but with several SPFL teams already out, there is a quiet optimism within the club.

Last Minute Nade Goal Prevents Hibs Moving Above Rangers

Hibs missed the chance to move above Rangers in the Championship thanks to a last minute sucker punch from Raith Rovers’ Christian Nade at Easter Road today.

Alan Stubbs’ men dominated throughout and created enough chances to win ten games before the ex Hearts’ striker equalised Martin Boyles’ earlier strike so Hibs had to settle for one point.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs made one change to the starting XI that beat Queen of the South last week, with new on-loan signing from Dundee United, Keith Watson taking over at right back from Callum Booth who was told last week that he would not be offered a contract at the end of the season and elected to move to Partick Thistle on loan. Hibs Move To Within Two Points Of Rangers

Hibs moved to within two points of second placed Rangers thanks to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Queen of the South in Dumfries this afternoon.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs kept the same starting XI that beat Cowdenbeath 5-0 last weekend, but it was the home side who started brightly and dominated early possession. Continue reading

Five Star Performance From Hibs

Hibs moved to within five points of Rangers in the race for second place in the Championship with a comfortable 5-0 win over Cowdenbeath at a freezing cold Easter Road this afternoon.
