Cummings’ Hat Trick Not Enough To Secure Hibs’ Victory

A Jason Cummings’ hat trick was not enough to secure a victory against Falkirk at Easter Road this afternoon as the Bairns came back from 3-1 down at half time to grab a share of the points.

Alan Stubbs made three changes to the starting XI that drew with Hearts last Saturday. Dominique Malonga who is away on international duty was replaced by Martin Boyle whilst David Gray who is out through injury was replaced by Callum Booth who took over the right-back role. Dylan McGeouch replaced Danny Handling in midfield. Continue reading

Honours Even In Hard Fought Edinburgh Derby

Hibs and Hearts shared the points this afternoon in a hard fought yet entertaining Edinburgh Derby in front of a full house at Tynecastle.

Jason Cummings (pictured) opened the scoring only for Jamie Walker to grab an equaliser just before half time.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs kept faith with the same starting XI that hammered Rangers 4-0 last Saturday.

New on-loan signing Martin Boyle was on the bench alongside Dylan McGeouch who returned to the squad following a period on the sidelines due to injury. Continue reading

Magnificent Hibs Thrash Rangers 4-0

Hibs moved to within four points of Rangers with a sensational four-nil victory over the Glasgow giants at Easter Road this afternoon.

The scoreline was Hibs’ biggest winning margin over Rangers for over seventy three years, and the first time they have managed to score four in over fifty years.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs selected his usual starting XI with David Gray playing with a niggling groin injury which will soon require an operation. Continue reading

Hibs leapfrogged Queen of the South to move into third place in the Championship this afternoon thanks to a 3-1 win away to Raith Rovers.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs kept faith with the starting XI who beat Alloa Athletic last week and the large travelling support were delighted to see David Gray recover from the knock which saw him leave the field early.

Hibs started brightly and Dominique Malonga went close after four then Danny Handling’s shot was parried by McGurn in the Raith goal. Continue reading

No Hangover As Hibs Ease Past Alloa

Alan Stubbs’ insistence that his players would not suffer a hangover following last week’s defeat to Falkirk was proved correct this afternoon as Hibs eased past Alloa Athletic at Easter Road thanks to goals from Danny Handling and Dominique Malonga.

Stubbs was able to recall two of his most experienced and influential players, skipper Liam Craig and Malonga for the visit of the Wasps at a bitterly cold stadium. Continue reading

A last minute David McCracken goal ended Hibs’ eight match unbeaten run in the Championship this afternoon in the Falkirk Stadium.

Hibs moved comfortably into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup with a 2-1 win over Alloa Athletic at Recreation Park this afternoon despite finishing the game with ten men after on form striker Dominique Malonga was sent off near the end.

First half goals from skipper Liam Craig and vice skipper David Gray secured the victory.

Hibs started brightly but it was the home side who grabbed the lead against the run of play in the 15th minute when Mark Oxley failed to deal with Meggatt’s long range effort and the ball squirmed underneath his body.

Kevin Cawley almost doubled Alloa’s lead a few minutes later before Gray almost levelled the scoring with a fine header which struck the post. Continue reading
