Hibs dismal Scottish Cup record continued this afternoon with a 3-2 home defeat to Raith Rovers at Easter Road.

Terry Butcher made two changes to the side that lost 4-0 to Celtic two weeks ago, with Paul Hanlon returning from injury to partner Michael Nelson in defence whilst new on loan signing Duncan Watmore was handed a first start in place of Abdellah Zoubir who dropped to the bench. Continue reading

Fenlon Under Pressure From Fans Following Derby Defeat

Dejected Hibs players left the field to a crescendo of boos last night  as scarves were thrown onto the pitch after the League Cup quarter final defeat to neighbours Hearts and a number of supporters protested outside the West Stand, demanding the removal of manager Pat Fenlon.

The same supporters had been in fine voice ahead of the game in which they were expected to win comfortably, and a spirited rendition of ‘Sunshine on Leith’ greeted the teams. Continue reading

Hibs had to settle for a share of the points after champions Celtic came from behind to grab a late equaliser in a 100mph encounter at Easter Road today.

Hibs undefeated run of six games came to an end with an emphatic 3-0 defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle today.

Pat Fenlon made three changes from the team that beat Stranraer in midweek, with Rowan Vine, Abdellah Zoubir and Alan Maybury dropping out, and Kevin Thomson, Paul Heffernan and Ryan McGivern replacing them.

Hibs came from behind to beat First Division side Stranraer 5-3 and progress to the quarter final of the Scottish League Cup, thanks to a hat trick from man of the match Liam Craig, and with Celtic losing to Morton, the on-form Easter Road side must fancy their chances to go all the way in the competition.

Collins And Heffernan Strike To Seal Three Points For Hibs

Goals from on-form strikers James Collins and Paul Heffernan helped Hibs produce their best performance of the season so far to beat St Mirren 2-0 at Easter Road.

Earlier in the week Pat Fenlon backed under-fire Saints’ boss Danny Lennon to turn things round, but hopes that the Buddies’ revival wouldn’t take place this weekend were granted, as Hibs dominated from start to finish and left the field to a well-deserved standing ovation from the long suffering fans.
