League Of Ireland 2013 – The Highs And Lows

The League of Ireland season is rarely boring and un-entertaining, 2013 was no different. We experienced many highs and lows with St.Patrick’s Athletic and Athlone Town among the most memorable stories as they won their respective leagues.

As ever there was no shortage of controversy as Waterford United endured a flirtation with the financial abyss as former manager Stephen Henderson sought to have them wound up in court before both parties ultimately made an agreement. Bradley And Gartland Linked With Rovers Return

Stephen Bradley is close to signing for Shamrock Rovers according to a source within the club.

The same source also revealed the club are targeting the signature of Graham Gartland.

Gartland found himself relegated with Shelbourne last season while Bradley had a good season with Limerick as they finished mid-table.

Mass Clearout At Rovers As Croly Releases Nine

Shamrock Rovers have confirmed the release of nine players from the club after their contracts finished at the end of the 2013 season.

The players are: James Chambers, Billy Dennehy, David Elebert, Danny Ledwith, Conor McCormack, Ken Oman, Conor Powell, Stephen Rice and Tommy Stewart. Continue reading
