O’Neill Names Ireland Squad For Upcoming Games

Martin O’Neill has named a provisional 36 man squad for Ireland’s upcoming games against Scotland and USA.

Starting away, Scotland host Ireland in a EURO 2016 qualifier on Friday, November 14 at 7.45pm, before Ireland take on the USA in Aviva Stadium in a Three International Friendly on November 18.

The squad will be shortened ahead of meeting up on November 10. Continue reading

It’s been quite a mad week in sport, as per usual. I take a look at some of the lighter moments, the dark moments and the down right crazy moments.

It’s a bad week for a foreign newspaper called ‘Critica’ as they gave us the best headline thus far;

The headline was created on Friday evening after Panama lost in epic fashion, 2-1 to Mexico in a crucial World Cup qualifier. Raul Jiminez’s late bicycle kick, or Chilena in Latin, essentially kept Mexico’s hopes alive while ending Panama’s in the process. Continue reading

Noel King today announced a provisional 26 man squad for Ireland’s upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Germany on October 11 in Cologne, and Kazakhstan on October 15 in Aviva Stadium.

New Cobh Ramblers keeper Robert Birdsall has endured something of a culture shock since returning home from the UK. After his move here before the kick off for the 2013 season the Kerry native thought his league got a bit more media coverage than it does but admits he has rarely seen any. “I have never once read about a First Divison game in the newspaper.”
