Hibs’ Pre-Season Ends With Scoreless Draw


Hibs’ preparations for the forthcoming campaign ended last night with a 0-0 draw away to East Fife.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs made eight changes with only Mark Oxley, Jordon Forster and Farid El Alagui retaining their place in the starting XI following Sunday’s match with Dundee United.

Hibs’ Fans Appreciate Stubbs’ Playing Style Despite Friendly Defeat


A late Chris Erskine goal secured victory for Dundee United in today’s friendly at Easter Road, but the Hibs’ fans left the stadium satisfied with their side’s passing game which was in stark contrast to the long ball style favoured by Terry Butcher last season.

Another pleasing aspect was the return to form of teenage winger Alex Harris whose confidence appeared to have deserted him in the latter stage of the campaign.

Dundee Utd Prove Too Strong For Hibs


Once again some questionable refereeing decisions sparked fury amongst the Hibs’ fans, but few would argue that Dundee United fully deserved the three points at Easter Road tonight.

Two late goals from Dundee United denied Hibs victory at Tannadice today in a game dominated by the Edinburgh side.

Terry Butcher made one change to the starting XI who beat Hearts in the New Year’s Edinburgh derby with Paul Heffernan returning to the side at the expense of youngster Jason Cummings, who dropped to the bench. Injury Fears For Hibs’ Irish Striker Cody Mulhall


Hibs’ Republic of Ireland Under 19 striker Cody Mulhall was rushed to hospital after landing awkwardly during Tuesday’s under 20s victory over Dundee United in Arbroath.

Mulhall who has been in sparkling form this season received immediate treatment from senior physio Kitty Mackinnon after the incident, and whilst an x-ray on his leg showed no fracture, he is scheduled to undergo a scan today to ascertain whether or not he has sustained ligament damage. Pat Fenlon Won’t Underestimate Stranraer


Hibs’ boss Pat Fenlon insists he will take nothing for granted against League One side Stranraer in tonight’s League Cup tie at Easter Road.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the fixture, Fenlon said: “I think we have better players than we had last year to be honest and there won’t be wholesale changes to the team. Former Hibs Favourite Gerry Baker Dies Aged 75


Hibernian FC have announced the sad news that former striker Gerry Baker has passed away aged 75 following a short illness.The news comes just over a month after the death of club legend Lawrie Reilly and Gerry took the time to travel to Edinburgh for the funeral although the two fans’ favourites never played in the same team.
