A brace from Daniel Corcoran gave Bohemians a 2-2 draw with Drogheda United last week. Bohs still undefeated thus far will be looking for more than a draw here. Gartland Discusses Charity Efforts Ahead Of PFAI Calendar Launch


The Professional Footballers Association Of Ireland (PFAI) will launch their 2014 Spot The Ballers calendar tomorrow.

The calendar which is funded by Ford is one of many charity efforts taking place to help Drogheda United striker Gary O’Neill, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer last month.

The calendar will be available from various retail outlets including HMV, select clubs and the PFAI themselves. Calendars will also be available to buy at the Aviva stadium on Sunday as Gary’s current team Drogheda United battle Sligo Rovers in the FAI Ford Cup final. Continue reading

Drogs Star Diagnosed With Testicular Cancer


Drogheda United have confirmed that League Of Ireland veteran Gary O’Neill has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.

The 31 year old former St Patrick’s Athletic and Shamrock Rovers striker received the diagnosis yesterday and is likely to miss the remainder of the season as he undergoes treatment for the condition.

LOI : Trapdoor Looms For Bray As Drogs Seek To Dent Rival’s Title Hopes

Derry City look to get back on track as they take on Shelbourne at the Brandywell.

After the 1-0 defeat at the hands of St Patrick’s Athletic on Tuesday, Derry City are out of the running for the league championship. A European place is still an option but manager Declan Devine and his side know that they cannot afford to slip up again or their league season will be over.

After the 2-1 home defeat last week against Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne will need a win here to give themselves a chance of surviving. Two defeats in a row have left them second from bottom on 20 points. Hoops Revel In Setanta Cup Success

Shamrock Rovers lifted the Setanta Cup after a convincing 7-1 victory over Louth natives Drogheda United on Saturday afternoon.

Rovers got off to a blistering start with James Chambers, Sean O’Connor and Karl Sheppard putting clear daylight between the teams in the first half. Both Ronan Finn and Billy Dennehy managed a brace in the second half as Trevor Croly earned his first piece of silverware as Rovers manager A mere consaltion goal for Drogheda United was scored by former Shamrock Rovers man Gary O’Neill.
