Hibs’ Fans Finance Headstone For Former Manager Dan McMichael

Hundreds of Hibs’ fans attended Saturday’s rededication service for former Manager, Secretary and Treasurer Dan McMichael at the Easter Cemetery in the shadow of the Famous Five Stand.

The event was organised by members of the St Patrick’s Branch of the Hibernian Supporters Association after it was discovered that Dan had been buried in an unmarked grave and a decision was quickly taken to rectify that situation. Continue reading

Bike Ride To Raise Funds For Dan McMichael Memorial

A Hibs season ticket holder will take part in a charity bike ride from London to Edinburgh next month to raise funds to help buy a fitting memorial to club legend Dan McMichael, who was the manager when the Scottish Cup last sat in the Easter Road trophy room.

Hugh Cockburn (57) who now lives in Sunderland will cycle from London to Edinburgh, starting off at Tower Bridge on Friday 3 May, arriving four days later in Holyrood Park.

Money raised will go to the St Patrick’s Branch of the Hibs Supporters Club, to be used to buy a gravestone for the club’s longest serving manager. Continue reading
