Terry Butcher Spells Out Vision For The Future

For the sixth time in seven years, the Easter Road press room was packed to capacity as Rod Petrie announced that former England captain Terry Butcher would succeed Pat Fenlon as the new Hibs’ manager.

Sitting between Butcher and new assistant manager Maurice Malpas, Petrie insisted that the new incumbent was ‘head and shoulders’ above any other candidate to replace Fenlon who resigned two weeks ago after a disastrous defeat to Hearts. Continue reading

The appearance of Terry Butcher in the West Stand along with former Hibs’ keeper Jim McArthur was the main talking point for the Hibs’ fans in what was a dismal performance against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Easter Road today.

Interim Manager Jimmy Nicholl made just one change from the side that lost to Motherwell last weekend with James Collins replacing the suspended Liam Craig. Continue reading

Lewis Stevenson Used To Change In Management At Hibs

Hibs longest serving player Lewis Stevenson is once again mourning the loss of one manager whilst waiting to find out who the replacement will be and whether he will be in their plans. In previous years, Hibs have remained tight lipped about the new appointments, but on this occasion, Rod Petrie has made it known that Terry Butcher is his first choice and the long suffering Hibs’ fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to see whether the former England captain will agree to move south to the capital.

Lewis spoke at yesterday’s press conference about the situation and the resignation of Pat Fenlon. Continue reading

Hibs undefeated run of six games came to an end with an emphatic 3-0 defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle today.

Pat Fenlon made three changes from the team that beat Stranraer in midweek, with Rowan Vine, Abdellah Zoubir and Alan Maybury dropping out, and Kevin Thomson, Paul Heffernan and Ryan McGivern replacing them.

Inverness took an early lead when Graeme Shinnie’s cross was spilled by Ben Williams and Billy McKay reacted fastest to force the ball into the net. Continue reading

Busy Transfer Window For Pat Fenlon

It’s been a busy summer period for Pat Fenlon, with an incredible 26 players leaving or arriving at the club.

Of last year’s squad, fans’ favourite Leigh Griffiths returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers where he has since signed a contract extension after making an impressive start to the season, whilst striking partner Eoin Doyle has joined Chesterfield. Continue reading

Hibs Top Six Hopes Hang By A Thread

Pat Fenlon’s hopes of a top six finish hang by a thread tonight after Hibs’ 2-1 home defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Other results mean that Kilmarnock could officially end Fenlon’s chances when they play St Mirren in midweek. In any case, Hibs now have to beat Celtic at Parkhead next weekend and hope that several other results go in their favour. Continue reading
