Hibs Lose 3-0 To Table Topping Inverness

Hibs undefeated run of six games came to an end with an emphatic 3-0 defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle today.

Pat Fenlon made three changes from the team that beat Stranraer in midweek, with Rowan Vine, Abdellah Zoubir and Alan Maybury dropping out, and Kevin Thomson, Paul Heffernan and Ryan McGivern replacing them.

Inverness took an early lead when Graeme Shinnie’s cross was spilled by Ben Williams and Billy McKay reacted fastest to force the ball into the net. Continue reading

Hibs Win Eight Goal Thriller To Reach Quarter Final

Hibs came from behind to beat First Division side Stranraer 5-3 and progress to the quarter final of the Scottish League Cup, thanks to a hat trick from man of the match Liam Craig, and with Celtic losing to Morton, the on-form Easter Road side must fancy their chances to go all the way in the competition.

Pat Fenlon Won’t Underestimate Stranraer

Hibs’ boss Pat Fenlon insists he will take nothing for granted against League One side Stranraer in tonight’s League Cup tie at Easter Road.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the fixture, Fenlon said: “I think we have better players than we had last year to be honest and there won’t be wholesale changes to the team. Goals from on-form strikers James Collins and Paul Heffernan helped Hibs produce their best performance of the season so far to beat St Mirren 2-0 at Easter Road.

Earlier in the week Pat Fenlon backed under-fire Saints’ boss Danny Lennon to turn things round, but hopes that the Buddies’ revival wouldn’t take place this weekend were granted, as Hibs dominated from start to finish and left the field to a well-deserved standing ovation from the long suffering fans. Hibs Come From Behind To Beat St Johnstone

Hibs came from behind to secure a valuable victory against St Johnstone in Perth today, and significantly, the goals came from new striking partners Paul Heffernan and James Collins, their first for the club.

Manager Pat Fenlon made four changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Ross County last week, with Kevin Thomson returning from suspension, and Paul Heffernan making his first start.  Player coach Alan Maybury took the right back spot from Lewis Stevenson who moved to his natural position on the left, replacing the injured Ryan McGivern.
