GAA Launches Streaming Service For International Fans

The GAA today launched its new subscription-based online streaming service which will offer live and on-demand GAA games to audiences worldwide, outside of the Island of Ireland.

GAAGO was launched by Noel Curran, Director General of RTÉ and Páraic Duffy, Director General of the GAA, launched GAAGO, the new subscription-based online streaming service, which will offer live and on-demand GAA games to audiences outside of Ireland starting with the 2014 GAA Championships. GAA Announces Lucrative Sky Sports Deal

The GAA have announced details of its TV and radio broadcast rights to cover the period 2014-2017, which includes a bumper deal with Sky Sports.

Speaking about the new deals, GAA President Liam O’Nèill said “Making our games more widely available to Irish people abroad was a critical factor in our approach to these negotiations. We felt an obligation to them not to neglect their legitimate appeals to be able to watch live TV coverage of our games.”

Within Ireland, a total of 45 provincial and All-Ireland championship matches will be broadcast live on television annually for the next three years: a total of 31 games will be shown by RTÉ (as per the last contract) and 14 by Sky Sports. Continue reading

American Football Returns To Dublin In 2014

cpcUCF and Penn State, in conjunction with the Gaelic Athletic Association, will travel across the Atlantic Ocean to open the 2014 football season with The Croke Park Classic on Saturday, August 30th, 2014 at Croke Park.

The announcement was made during the GAA Leinster Football Finals at the Dublin venue with members of each institution present, including UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Todd Stansbury and Head Coach George O’Leary. Continue reading
