Hoops Bolster Squad With North Capture

Shamrock Rovers  have swooped to secure the signature of striker Danny North from Sligo Rovers for the 2015 season.

The former St Patrick’s Athletic and Grimsby Town forward put pen to paper on a deal with the Hoops last night.

North had been training with Grimsby Town in recent weeks, but has decided to continue in the Airtricity League with Shamrock Rovers. Continue reading

Ten Man St Johnstone Hold Hibs

Hibs hopes of reaching the top six took a setback following a 0-0 draw with ten man St Johnstone at Easter Road today.

Manager Terry Butcher who had to watch from the Director’s box following a touchline ban, made just one change to the side following last weekend’s narrow defeat to champions Celtic with prolific youngster Jason Cummings taking over from Danny Handling who dropped to the bench. Continue reading

Pat Fenlon is waiting to hear whether his plans for a settled back four have been disrupted yet again after right back Tim Clancy’s hopes of a first team come back suffered  another set-back on Saturday when  he was forced to leave the field after only 33 minutes against Duns in Saturday’s East of Scotland League fixture at the club’s training ground at East Mains. Hibs Come From Behind To Beat St Johnstone

Hibs came from behind to secure a valuable victory against St Johnstone in Perth today, and significantly, the goals came from new striking partners Paul Heffernan and James Collins, their first for the club.

Manager Pat Fenlon made four changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Ross County last week, with Kevin Thomson returning from suspension, and Paul Heffernan making his first start.  Player coach Alan Maybury took the right back spot from Lewis Stevenson who moved to his natural position on the left, replacing the injured Ryan McGivern.
