Scottish Police Confirm Buckley Body Find


Police in Scotland have confirmed that the remains found at a farm in Glasgow are those of missing Irish student Karen Buckley.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested following the disappearance of the 24 year old Cork student and is due to appear in court in the city tomorrow.

Karen vanished in the early hours of Sunday morning after a night out with friends. She had only moved to Scotland in January to study occupational therapy.

Speaking about the discovery Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr, the officer leading the inquiry, said

“We cannot begin to imagine the pain and suffering of Karen’s family and friends and all our thoughts are with them at this very sad time. Continue reading

Police Scotland Search For Missing Irish Student


Police in Glasgow are urgently appealing for information in relation to missing 24-year-old Irish student who disappeared in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Cork native Karen Buckley is a student at Glasgow Caledonian University and lives with three other student friends in a flat in Hill Street, Garnethill, Glasgow.

After having drinks in the flat on Saturday 11 April 2015, Karen and her friends left and went to Sanctuary nightclub in Dumbarton Road, Partick, arriving at 11.45pm.  Continue reading

Dublin Man Convicted Of Killing His Mother

James DunleavyA Dublin man who was responsible for the death of his mother and the disposal of her body has been convicted.

At the High Court in Edinburgh today (Friday) James Dunleavy was found guilty of the culpable homicide of 66-year-old Phyllis Dunleavy, whose dismembered body was found buried on Corstorphine Hill on May 7th 2013.

The 40-year-old, who was also convicted of attempting to pervert the course of justice, will be sentenced at a later date. Continue reading
