Martin O’Neill has named a provisional 33 man squad for Ireland’s upcoming Three International Friendly against England in Aviva Stadium on Sunday, June 7, and UEFA Euro 2016 Group D qualifier against Scotland in Aviva Stadium on Saturday, June 13.

Today’s provisional squad announcement sees the inclusion of Brentford’s Alan Judge and Aberdeen’s Adam Rooney however Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has opted to remain omitted from the squad until further notice. Continue reading

Keane To Bring Galaxy To Tallaght

Hollywood glamour will arrive in Tallaght in February just as Shamrock Rovers are making their final preparations for the 2015 Premier Division campaign.

The Hoops can confirm that the club will play host to MLS champions, LA Galaxy in a friendly game at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday, February 21.

O’Neill Names Ireland Squad For Upcoming Games

Martin O’Neill has named a provisional 36 man squad for Ireland’s upcoming games against Scotland and USA.

Starting away, Scotland host Ireland in a EURO 2016 qualifier on Friday, November 14 at 7.45pm, before Ireland take on the USA in Aviva Stadium in a Three International Friendly on November 18.

Survey Reveals Irish World Cup Verdict

Ireland may not be represented at the World Cup this month, but we’re still excited about the tournament.  A survey conducted by EA SPORTS™ 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP BRAZIL™ videogame amongst Irish sports fans has found that despite the Boys in Green not qualifying for Brazil, almost 90% of respondents are still looking forward to the World Cup, with only less than 2% saying that they are not interested in the tournament at all.

We’ll be watching…… one third of respondents plan to watch over 75% of the matches during the tournament, while a massive two thirds will tune into at least 50% of the matches.  Almost 88% planning on watching at home with RTE’s coverage by far the most popular choice (65%) amongst fans. At what point does the blame go on the players at a football club rather than the man picking the starting XI? Is the media purely trying to change public perception of David Moyes? Is Moyes the easiest and most obvious target for United’s gloomy season?

Granted, this article may sound like a rant at the players at Manchester United but it’s not. I’m not a United fan, either.

The current situation at Manchester United is their manager, David Moyes, is being roasted alive for problems out of his current control. Is it his fault players aren’t up to the standard? Sir Alex Ferguson had a type of ‘fear factor’ above each and every player that walked through the doors at Old Trafford. David Moyes doesn’t.

He was never going to have this factor over the players in his first season, and being honest, some players are just there for the handy pay cheque at the end of the week. Players that wouldn’t get into other big sides throughout the world of football such as Barcelona,  Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. Continue reading

Ireland’s new managerial partnership of Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane got their reign off to the best possible start last night as the boys in green beat Latvia 3-0 at Aviva Stadium.

Ireland got off to a solid start when the reinstalled James McClean, a firm favourite of O’Neill during his time at Sunderland, went close with a volleyed effort.

Former Celtic manager O’Neill was keen to employ a quick pass and move tempo and in doing so proved that this Irish team are more than capable of playing the beautiful game. Continue reading
