Post Fenlon Era At Hibs Begins With Scoreless Draw

Terry Butcher’s first game in charge of Hibs ended in a no scoring draw against on form St Mirren in Paisley today. The Easter Road side dominated possession, and should have had a penalty when James Collins was clearly brought down by Darren McGregor in the box midway through the first half, but in the end, a draw was probably a fair result.

The new manager, who succeeded Pat Fenlon over the international break, surprised a few with his selection, retaining the same back four that played against Inverness two weeks ago although he admitted that James McPake would have played but for a last minute back injury. Continue reading

Pat Fenlon Determined To Progress To Semi Final


Hibs’ boss Pat Fenlon is determined to make the semi-final of the League Cup by beating Hearts’ youngsters at Easter Road tonight and insists that he has enough quality strikers available to combat the loss of Paul Heffernan.

Hibs dismal record against Ross County continued today at Easter Road as the clubs fought out a goalless draw. The home side dominated possession however in the end they were fortunate to keep a point as Ross County missed several good chances.

Irish Youngsters Making Big Impression With Hibs

Last year several of the Hibs’ Under 20 squad progressed to the first team, including the highly thought of Alex Harris, Danny Handling, Ross Caldwell and Jordon Forster, whilst others such as Sam Stanton, Dean Horribine and Bradley Donaldson were regularly on the fringes.

Hibs Suffer Narrow Defeat To Nottingham Forest


Hibs lost narrowly to Championship club Nottingham Forest last night at the Estadio Municipal VRSA, in the Algarve.

Pat Fenlon chose a more experienced side in the second game of the tour, with Ben Williams and James McPake returning to the starting XI. Hibs Start Pre-Season Tour With Win Over Gibraltar


New signing Fraser Mullen started his Hibs’ career in style last night, scoring the opener in the club’s pre-season friendly win against a Gibraltar XI on the 4G surface at the Victoria Stadium.

Pat Fenlon selected a young side containing five teenagers; Mullen, Jordan Forster, Sam Stanton, Ross Caldwell and Danny Handling, whilst Sean Murdoch made a rare appearance in goal. Seven of the starting line-up graduated through the youth academy as did four of the substitutes. Continue reading
