IMPACT: 60% of Special Needs Assistants Experience Assault

Almost 60 per cent of Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) have been the subject of an assault by the children they work with, according to a survey conducted by trade union IMPACT. 90 per cent of that figure have experienced such assaults more than once, while 18 per cent say that it is a daily feature of their job, a further 18 per cent noting its occurrence one a week.
