Tallaght Shooting Victim Not The Intended Target

Gardaì investigating a shooting in Dublin last night fear the victim was not the intended target.

The 32-year-old man was shot in the legs when he answered his front door at Corbally Green in Tallaght at around 10.45pm last night.

He is currently being treated in Tallaght Hospital but Gardaì claim his injuries are not life threatening.

Detectives in Tallaght say they do not know why the man was shot and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are currently treating the case as one of mistaken identity.

The man who works as a bank clerk is not known to Gardaì and has no previous convictions.

A gunman with a scarf around his face fired five shots from a 9mm handgun and hit the man three times in the legs.

The victim’s partner and ten-year-old child were in the house at the time.

Gardaì Investigating Double Murder In Kilcock

Gardaì in Leixlip are investigating the death of two men who were murdered after a shooting at a house in Kilcock, Co Kildare.

The shooting happened at 10.20pm at a house on Rochford Avenue. The two men died instantly from the gunshot wounds while two other men who were at the house at the time were also injured.

It is believed that the men in the house were two Irish men and two foreign men.

It is believed that at least two gunmen, one armed with a shotgun and another with a hand gun, forced their way into the house and fired several shots.

Two men were taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where they were pronounced dead.

One of the dead men is in his 30s and the second is believed to be in his late teens.

The two other injured men were taken to Tallaght Hospital and the Mater Hospital.

As of yet no motives for the attack have been revealed.
