Hibs’ Fans Appreciate Stubbs’ Playing Style Despite Friendly Defeat

A late Chris Erskine goal secured victory for Dundee United in today’s friendly at Easter Road, but the Hibs’ fans left the stadium satisfied with their side’s passing game which was in stark contrast to the long ball style favoured by Terry Butcher last season.

Another pleasing aspect was the return to form of teenage winger Alex Harris whose confidence appeared to have deserted him in the latter stage of the campaign.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs handed home debuts to new signings David Gray and Farid el Alagui, with Hull City goalkeeper Mark Oxley starting as a trialist. Continue reading

Hibs Relegated After Hamilton Defeat

Hibs have been relegated from the SPFL after losing a penalty shoot out to Hamilton in front of a packed Easter Road stadium today.

Terry Butcher’s side went into the game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg and the manager made one change to the starting line up with Danny Haynes replacing Alex Harris.

Hibs suffered and early blow when Haynes took a heavy knock on his ankle and Harris took over. Continue reading

Jason Cummings’ Double Eases Pressure On Hibs

Hibs took a massive step toward retaining their top flight status last night thanks to two superb goals from teenage striker Jason Cummings in front of a sell-out crowd at New Douglas Park.

Terry Butcher made three changes to the Hibs starting XI with Alex Harris, Lewis Stevenson and Cummings replacing James Collins, Jordon Forster and Duncan Watmore.

Hibs’ season continues for another two weeks after falling into the playoff position following yesterday’s 1-0 home defeat to Kilmarnock in front of a large crowd at Easter Road.
