Innovative Irish Sports App Makes International Awards Shortlist

An Irish-designed mobile app that enables sports coaches, scouts and analysts to assess the performance of individual players and teams has been shortlisted alongside Sky Sports, Wilson, Adidas in the inaugural Sports Technology Awards.

Sport Tagger has been shortlisted in the categories of Best Technology and Best Sports App in the international awards scheme, the first of its kind to celebrate the best and most innovative advancements within the sporting world.

Waterford To Learn League Of Ireland Faith

wufcWaterford United will know their destiny later this morning after a high court judge gives a ruling in a winding up order issued against the club by former manager Stephen Henderson, who is owed a five figure sum by the Suirsiders.

Local fans will anxiously be awaiting some positive news, in the hope that the club doesn’t follow the likes of Monaghan United, Dublin City and Sporting Fingal into the abyss. Instead they will be hoping their club can follow the lead of Bohemians and Dundalk who have both come back from death’s door in recent years while Cork City have also established a different model following a renaissance at Turner’s Cross. Premier League Fixtures Released

With just 59 days to go until first kick-off, the fixture list for the 2013/14 season of the Barclays Premier League has been released, and whatever computer the League uses to draw the fixtures clearly hasn’t lost its mischievous side. Manchester United’s new manager David Moyes looks to have his work cut out for him; his side will face Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in their first five games. The clash with Chelsea will be the Scotsman’s first game in charge at Old Trafford and is a mouth-watering prospect considering it will be José Mourinho’s first return to Manchester as a Premier League manager, and Moyes’ first real test at United’s helm.
