Last Minute Goal Ends Hibs’ Unbeaten Run

A last minute David McCracken goal ended Hibs’ eight match unbeaten run in the Championship this afternoon in the Falkirk Stadium.

Hibs’ head coach Alan Stubbs made two enforced changes, with Paul Heffernan replacing the suspended Dominique Malonga whilst midweek hat-trick hero Sam Stanton took over from skipper Liam Craig who was injured during last week’s Scottish Cup win over Alloa Athletic. Continue reading

Hibs Up To Fourth After Comfortable Win Over Livingston

Hibs recorded their biggest league win in over two years this afternoon by comprehensively beating Livingston 4-0 at the Energy Assets Arena.

Goals from Dominique Malonga, Danny Handling , Dylan McGeough and Paul Heffernan ensured the three points headed to Easter Road and as an added bonus, Alan Stubbs’ men are now in the play off position.

Stubbs was forced to play Callum Booth in the centre of the defence alongside Paul Hanlon after normal first choice Jordon Forster called off due to an injury. Continue reading

Hibs Drop Another Two Points In Promotion Race

On form Hibs had to settle for one point against Raith Rovers at Easter Road this afternoon after a goal from former Hearts’ striker Christian Nade cancelled out Scott Robertson’s first half effort.

Alan Stubbs’ men dominated the first half and created numerous chances but had to be content with a one goal lead, but Rovers responded well and were well worth a share of the points.

Stubbs made one change to the starting XI who performed so well at Ibrox in midweek with Callum Booth replacing the injured David Gray resulting in the versatile Lewis Stevenson moving to right wing back. Continue reading

Hibs Drop To Eighth Place In Championship After Alloa Defeat

Hibs slumped to an embarrassing eighth place in the Championship this afternoon, after losing 2-1 to part time Alloa Athletic at Recreation park.

Their third straight defeat leaves the Easter Road side nine points behind leaders Hears after only four games.

Hibs Lose Again Despite Improved Performance

Despite a vastly improved performance in comparison to last week’s dismal derby display, Hibs once again came away with no points in an entertaining game against Falkirk at Easter Road this afternoon.

Head coach Alan Stubbs made four changes to the team that lost at Tynecastle. Two were enforced with suspended pair Lewis Stevenson and Scott Robertson being replaced by Callum Booth and Scott Allan, whilst on-loan Matthew Kennedy took Sam Stanton’s place and Paul Heffernan took over from Danny Handling.

Hibs started brightly particularly down the left side with Booth and Kennedy forming a dangerous partnership and were unlucky not to score. Continue reading

Brave Hibs Lose Out To Rangers In Petrofac Training Cup

Ten man Hibs lost 2-1 to Rangers after extra time at Ibrox in the Petrofac Training Cup tonight after dominating the game throughout and despite the result the players were cheered off the park by the large travelling support.

Alan Stubbs retained the same starting XI who lost narrowly to Dundee United at Easter Road last weekend with no place in the team for new signing Scott Allan. Strikers Paul Heffernan and Jason Cummings who have both been side-lined with injuries also started on the bench. Continue reading

Hibs’ preparations for the forthcoming campaign ended last night with a 0-0 draw away to East Fife.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs made eight changes with only Mark Oxley, Jordon Forster and Farid El Alagui retaining their place in the starting XI following Sunday’s match with Dundee United.
