Hibs Relegated After Hamilton Defeat

Hibs have been relegated from the SPFL after losing a penalty shoot out to Hamilton in front of a packed Easter Road stadium today.

Terry Butcher’s side went into the game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg and the manager made one change to the starting line up with Danny Haynes replacing Alex Harris.

Hibs’ season continues for another two weeks after falling into the playoff position following yesterday’s 1-0 home defeat to Kilmarnock in front of a large crowd at Easter Road.

A late Sam Stanton header gave Hibs a share of the points against Partick Thistle at Easter Road today and results elsewhere mean that a win on Tuesday night against Ross County will ensure top flight survival.

Two wonder goals from Northern Ireland star Niall McGinn secured the three points for Aberdeen in a hard fought encounter at Easter Road this evening.

Hibs’ run of bad luck continued before kick-off when striker Paul Heffernan suffered an injury during the warm-up and his place in the starting XI was taken by James Collins.

Hearts’ Relegation Postponed After Beating Hibs At Tynecastle

Hibs dismal run of form continued today with a 2-0 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle and whilst yet another disgraceful blunder by a linesman prevented a late equaliser for the Easter Road side, in truth Hearts deserved the victory to stave off relegation for at least another three days.

The Hearts’ fans have already accepted their fate, but were determined to drag their rivals into a relegation play off and the players were greeted with chants of ‘You’re going down with the Jambos.’ Continue reading
